Connections 2 (2005)

About the Artist:
Eric Richard considers himself to be a very versatile artist. He has 25 years experience in the broadcasting industry with an affiliate of CTV, while at the same time pursing other artistic passions including creating his personal collection of art work. Eric Richard's artistic and creative endeavours have been expressed through computer generated media, through painting in oil, drawing in charcoal / pastel, building furniture and also interior decorating. It is the mix of his many life experiences and his pursuit of personal growth that inspires Eric to create.

Artist's Statement:
I consider myself fortunate to have been born an artist. My life path was determined; therefore I simply applied myself to learn, to experiment and to explore my passion of art in general. I suffer from bi-polar disorder for which there is no know cure. The fact that I have accomplished what I have with a disability… simply proves, we do have the ability.

As artistic individuals, through our passion and expertise, we provide the viewing public, the possibility of discovering for themselves, beauty and enjoyment. Through our personal vision, hopefully we can expand our minds, as well as others minds, with the possibilities of further developing our culture and its uniqueness and the world in which we live. Therefore comes the term "artistic expression", I do hope though, that as artists, we use our artistic talents wisely, responsibly and in good taste, maintaining a good standard for future generations to learn from, after all, we have learned from past generations of creative individuals.
