Theatre Terrific : Music Making Workshop with Joel DeStefano
These workshops will use improvisation exercises that explore elements of rhythm, form, vocal technique and working with text. 3RD Disability Pride Art and Culture Festival
We are excited to bring together a mix of artists, scholars and performers for the third Disability Pride Art and Culture Festival ... (sponsored by the Regional Art and Culture Council and Oregon Arts Commission). This year for the first time, we include a visual arts exhibit that will be held from May 15-27 at the YWCA Conference Room, featuring the work of Carole Zoom, a photographer and Japanese woodblock printmaker living in Portland, Oregon. Carole has photography published in the Wall Street Journal, Country Living Magazine, Oregon Quarterly, Portland Monthly and Eugene Weekly.

YES I WILL! – Blaumeier- Atelier Arts
In this theatre production, ten brides want the same groom, a priest wants to marry, a godmother wants money and a janitor will order a mask. Blaumeier Atelier is an arts company based in Bremen, Germany. The project includes an number of different art forms spread over a membership of 200+ artists who include in their number psychiatric survivors, individuals with physical and learning disabilities and non-disabled people. The project's wide compass includes theatre, mask theatre, painting, a band and a choir.

PUBLIC LECTURE: Blindness at the Museum – Featuring Georgina Kleege
Georgina Kleege has taught creative writing, literature and disability studies at the University of Oklahoma and Ohio State University and now teaches English at the University of California, Berkeley. A powerful new voice in the domain of visual studies, Kleege's contributions have engaged audiences at the Tate Modern in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In 2005, she helped to organize the "Blind at the Museum" exhibit and conference at the Berkeley Art Museum. ALL ABOUT ART at MossRehab (Einstein at Elkins Park)
MossRehab presents a free and open to the public exhibition by professional artists with disabilities. The work is all original and represents an array of mediums. MossRehab inaugurated an exhibition showcasing artists with disabilities in 1979. We believe it was the first show of its kind on the East Coast. Works by 68 artists and fine craft artisans is showcased. There are 38 returning favorites and 30 artists who are new to the exhibition. Moscow International Disability Film Festival – BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS lV
This festival is organized by Perspektiva, a Russian non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides support to help people with disabilities live full and fulfilling lives. Nearly 300 films from 30 countries were screened during the first three festivals, with more than 4,000 people in attendance at the festival activities in Moscow. INTERNATIONAL SMILING CHILD FESTIVAL
The International Smiling Child Festival was launched in 2006 to celebrate "National Sovereignty and Children's Day" in Turkey on April 23. In its inaugural year, 500 disabled and non-disabled children from 8 Turkish cities and 13 countries participated with performances and exhibiting their artwork. In 2007, the festival included 750 disabled and non-disabled children from 26 countries. The 2008 Festival program spanned 6 days

PLAYING FOR OTHERS Arts Festival
Playing for Others is a non-profit organization that provides a unique opportunity for teens to utilize their creative talents to make a difference in the community. The program partners yearly with different non-profit organizations that serve children with special needs. Through a nine month volunteer program, teens learn the importance of community involvement while raising funds for the partnered non-profit organization. As a culmination of the program, they host a 3-day Arts Festival, showcasing their many talents and various artistic works

The Festival brings together people with mental disabilities who have artistic abilities in order to promote the encounter with disabled artists and educate the general public about mental disability. Retour d'image programs movies featuring disabled characters, delivered in accessible cinemas and cultural centers. All the films are subtitled and audio-described in French. A debate is conducted following each screening, by a film critic or professional with a disability. French sign language interpreters are provided at every venue

THE WAY WE LIVE! International Short Film Festival
The Way We Live! is a biennial Shot Film Festival that occurs in autumn. Presented by ABM (Association for Disability and Media), the six programmes in the competition portray the lives and experiences of disabled people and those with chronic or mental illnesses. At the same time the Festival's name, The Way We Live!, also means the way we all live together in one society. In 2007, more than 350 films from 47 countries were submitted for the competition
