Maggie Atienza Larsson

About the Artist:
Maggie Atienza Larsson was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1953 and is a Fine Arts graduate.

Since 1984, Maggie has participated in individual and group shows and competitions on municipal, provincial and national levels. Some of these include "Pandora's Box", OEA; Van Riel Gallery; Deutche Bank; Giesso Space; Mosto & Rojas; Arcimboldo; Arte X Arte; Solanas (Pta del Este) Uruguay; Borges Cultural Center; La Cuadra; Arte BA 98 Avon, /00/01-Space Giesso Reich; XII and XIII Critic Journey.

She has been awarded in the following competitions: Otium, Chandon, Fortabat, Günther, Klemm, Avon, Telecom, Palermo University, INET Prize (MNBA), Art Creativity/98-Fondo Nacional de las Artes; Banco Provincia; Goethe Homage/99-Franckfurt-Germany; Constantini Prize 2000 and the Sacred Art Show-Morón (3).

In 1995, Maggie participated in "Painting with American children", organizated by Integra Foundation (Chile). Between '94-97 she participated in the group "Identity/Difference" with shows, urban interventions and in the book "50 Women without tale". In 1997 the Group was awarded by the Argentine Association of Art Critics in the rubric "Experience" for that publication.

Maggie created the installation "The Beehive's Spirit" ("El Espíritu de la Colmena") in the Recoleta's Cultural Center/96; Argentine Painting XX Century Recoleta's Cultural Center 99/00. She has received more than 10 prize mentions and awards: First Prize Regional and National-Avon 94 MNBA. First Prize Mention, Telecom 95, Gold Medal and the stamp of a telephone card with her work, Palais de Glace.

Her works are in the private and public collections in Argentina, the Americas and Europe.
