Artist's Statement:
"Banyan Tree":
Earth exposes entanglement brilliantly through the Banyan Tree. The Banyan
defies the normalcy of branches growing up. Instead, in empathy of her own
roots, she allows her tree limbs to become roots quite obviously. Feeling
the need to strengthen her own roots, she exposes the shortcomings of normalcy.
This choice in exposure results in a blended entanglement. The Banyan Tree
demonstrates the coupling of unconscious choices we make to stand in the
world but not by the world.
"Winter Voices":
Life's complexities appear as vapor in nightmarish dreams of a cluttered
mental landscape. In allowing this processing, we expose our internal
conflicts and attempts at their resolution. Life's drama is the balancing
out of which tensions we choose to define us. This image on one's anguish
in her mental lanscape begs exposure.
