Kraig Emmert
Houston, United States
About the Artist:
For years I shot black & white (some infrared) and then hand-colored the prints.
Today almost all of my work is done on the computer. I do though experiment with
hand-coloring/drawing on digital prints simply because I enjoy working a print
with my hands. PhotoArt is as a large part of my life although I do love to sketch
(often scanning and employing those sketches in other digital captures) and I
frequently diddle in the other arts. I love life and the opportunity to enjoy it
is cherished ... I know all too well how fragile it is.
Artist's Statement:
"It Was Then, It Is Now":
I spent a good deal of time as a child in the hospital ... my family and friends
are for the most part unaware of the lonrly times I spend in bed ... dreaming of
running ... dreaming of being normal. Now it is exposed.
"The past is always ... sometimes hidden sometimes forgotten":
Time spent rying to recline pain in to submission is often exposed to memories
of my past.
"We're Here Together ... All One":
I am unable to move about much anymore and I spend a lot of time simply sitting ...
thinking ... recalling ... dreaming ... remembering and wishing for things that
will never be. My life exposed.
