Kelly Haydon
Vancouver, Canada
About the Artist:
Before March, 1990, in my premorbid life, I was an academic and loved doing research and
teaching. On that particular day, fate intervened in the guise of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
(M.E.) and channelled my life into the very different avenue of art.
After many years of being bed ridden with severe muscle weakness and fatigue, I had a
desire for colour. My parents brought me some paints which I happily doodled with. This
doodling, over eight years, has, surprisingly, resulted in my becoming an artist.
Artist's Statement:
It exposes with the camera lens a world that we create – then pretend doesn't exist.
