About the Artist:
Since the age of 5, I've always had a camera in my hand. It was my kaleidoscope
through which I observed the world around me. All it took was one roll of colour
film, my first KODAK Tele-instamatic, and I was hooked for life.
Over the years, my passion for photography developed into a passion for
cinema. And because these two worlds seemed to naturally overlap, my curiosity
led me to study and work in the field; my experience as a camera assistant
allowed me to become quite skilled in the domain of motion picture equipment;
but the greatest gift was having the honour of working with some of the industry’s
best cinematographers, directors and actors.
Therefore, it came as no surprise to me when my subsequent style became more
'cinematic' – instinctively approaching all my subjects as if they were vignettes
actors in a film, victims of a stolen glance. Within each frame, each piece, each
moment, I strive for perfection in my work – each image will tell a story, and in
each photograph, a mystery develops, waiting to be solved.
Photography was my first love. It gradually became my language, permeated my
world, transformed itself into my saving grace, and is now, my life.
