Wings Are Given to All

“Wings Are Given To All,” is a mime-and-dance production performed by the Chaika touring troupe of the Nedoslov Theatre Company. Chaika is comprised of deaf actors from Russia; all graduates of the State Specialized Institute of Arts. Their performance "Wings are Given to All", is a mime and dance play based on the story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull by R. Bach.

Chaika and “Wings are Given to All” has received critical acclaim wherever it has played. Their work appeared in the film, Allen’s Rule, which received the Audience Prize at the Cinema Beyond Barriers International Film Festival. Chaika played to critical acclaim at the PODIUM-2003 International Festival in Moscow. In 2004, the company received a standing ovation at VSA Arts International Festival in Washington DC (June 2004) and were celebrated at the All-Russian Festival “PROTHEATER” in Moscow (September 2004). Following their appearance at Abilities Arts Festival, Chaika undertook a US tour performing in cities such as Washington, DC; Austin, Texas; Boston, Massachusetts.

As part of Abilities Arts Festival 2005, Chaika was a featured performance at the evening gala, held at the Glenn Gould Studio.
