The Glenvale Players are a company of blind and low-vision theatre artists who offer a stunning contribution of dramatic innovative presentations to the Toronto community theatre scene. Their mandate is to not only promote and provide opportunities for blind and vision-impaired talent, but to provide a venue for them to work with their sighted peers. The Glenvale Players performed “The Wizard and His Magical Hat” at the 2007 Abilities Arts Festival.

In “The Wizard and His Magical Hat”, the Grand Wizard Geoffrey has lost his hat – the source of all his magic. Without his hat he is powerless. Some bored children find the hat and accidentally discover its secret, which enables them to become anything they wish. When the hat is permanently lost the children and the wizard discover that the ability to achieve their goals really lies within themselves.

“The Wizard and His Hat” is an interactive play that takes suggestions from the audience, and incorporates them into what becomes an amazing improvisational story.
