Afi-Tiombe Kambon

(United States)

Afi-Tiombe is an actor and story-teller. Her presentations hold audiences spellbound. As an amputee as a result of cancer at a very young age, Afi-Tiombe's stories often include characters with a disability. Her goal is to "display what can be lost by treating people with disabilities as non-persons, and what can be gained by integrating those with disabilities into our communities as equals".

Afi-Tiombe Kambon's passion for disability, African-American history and drama all come together into dazzling one-woman performances that both entertain and enlighten.

As part of Abilities Arts Festival 2005, Afi-Tiombe Kambon was a featured performer at the festival's evening gala held at the Glenn Gould Studio and during the festival was an active panel participant. Afi-Tiombe also performed at the 2006 Children’s Festival "In Celebration of Our Children and Youth".
