Terry's enthusiasm for life and sheer determination have gained him
recognition as an award winning singer, song-writer and performer,
as well as an accomplished athlete, performer and a professional speaker.
Terry has amassed a total of seven East Coast Music Awards, has been
nominated for a JUNO for Country Male Vocalist and has earned two final
ballot nominations at the Canadian Country Music Awards in the categories
of "Single" and "SOCAN Song of the Year". The Canadian Country Music
Association (CCMA) presented Terry Kelly with the 2005 CCMA Humanitarian
Award. Album Of The Year.
In 2003, Terry was appointed to the Order of Canada by Her Excellency,
the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada. He
has received an Honourary Doctorate of Arts from Saint Mary's University,
an honourary Doctor of Civil Law from University of King's College and
has received the King Clancy Award, a highly coveted award presented to
Canadians who have increased public awareness about the potential of
disabled people.
Terry has performed his original music in places as far away as Australia
and Spain; and has shared the stage with such artists as Rita MacNeil,
The Rankin Family, Faith Hill and Ray Charles.
As part of Abilities Arts Festival 2005, Terry Kelly performed at the
festival's opening ceremonies, as well as at a matinee performance for
children and youth with disabilities.
