Each year since its inception, “In celebration of Our Children and Youth” has increased in
size to reflect the growing response to our Children’s Program by students with disabilities and
their teachers and aides, across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and beyond.

The 2008 Children’s Program was a resounding success that featured electrifying performances by
reknown rock musician/songwriter Martin Deschamps, mime artist max Fomitchev, B-Boy Luca
“LazyLegs” Patuelli and soulful singer/songwriter Justin Hines.

In addition to the 3 day-long performances held on October 21, 22, and 23, children and youth
were asked to provide their creative expressions by using the many leaf templates provided by the
Festival or by creating their own. Their leaves were put on the Abiliities Tree at Sala Cabata and
at the Columbus Centre. A Creative Centre was set aside at both venues where children could
participate and create using a variety of materials - leaves, markers, crayons, pencils, pens,
stickers and more. All were invited to tour the Children's Art Exhibit held at the Columbus
Centre, showcasing the works submitted by children and youth from across the GTA.
