2007 Performances

From the Gala Evening of performances at the Glenn Gould Studio to the Matinee and informal performances at the Columbus Centre, the performing arts took centre stage. Featured Artist:

Elaine Stevenson

Elaine's work focuses on the interplay between light and physical environment, be it built or natural. Schooled in composition and colour by her father, a photographer and jack-of-all-trafes, she chooses to focus not faithfully representing what is real, but instead upon exploring what cannot be seen, the space where light and sound become one, where light responds to sound, and sound to light.

This work, conceived as 'painted light', begins life as photographic recordings of light captured in settings resonant with intense beat-driven sound-scapes, energising bodies and minds alike.
