ABILITIES ARTS FESTIVAL IS PLEASED TO PRESENT:

OUT FROM UNDER: DISABILITY, HISTORY AND THINGS TO REMEMBER

Out From Under: Disability, History and Things to Remember is an activist exhibition of Canadian Disability History produced by students, collaborators and faculty at Ryerson University's School of Disability Studies.

Breaking free from conventional methods of historical research, this exhibit begins from a selection of objects, each of which signifies a particular moment in the historical struggles of people with disabilities and their allies. Out From Under chronicles stories of shame, neglect and disenfranchisement at the same time as it illuminates a proud history of resistance and survival. Taken together, these installations pay tribute to the resilience, creativity and civic and cultural contributions of disabled Canadians. Admission: FREE
